What kind of wood is used?
We primarily use 1/8" premium solid Cherry hardwood. We selected Cherry for its elegant grain structure and its ability to hold incredible detail, whether we are laser-etching a design or printing vibrant, full-color artwork.
Does the engraving color vary between keychains?
Slightly, yes. Wood density varies even within a single sheet, so the laser reacts differently across the grain, creating subtle shifts in burnt tone from piece to piece. No two come out exactly the same. That's not a flaw in the process. That's the whole point of working with a natural material.
Is there a "burnt" smell?
When you first open your package, you might notice a faint, campfire-like aroma. This is a natural byproduct of the precision laser-cutting process. It is completely non-toxic and typically dissipates within 24 to 48 hours.
