The Woods
The wood matters. Each species I work with has its own color, grain pattern, density, and personality. I choose materials for their beauty, durability, and responsible sourcing, not because they are cheap or easy to get. This page covers the hardwoods currently in rotation at PRWMade, what makes each one worth using, and how they behave over time.

Maple, rich
Walnut, or striking
Redheart, every species brings its own character.
Meet the woods I commonly use
Maple
Creamy, pale, and smooth with a tight grain that lets fine detail shine.
Walnut
Deep chocolate tones with rich, swirling grain. Our most timeless, classic hardwood.
Cherry
Warm pinkish-red that deepens into a honeyed amber as it ages with sunlight.
Olivewood
Wild, chaotic grain in caramel and cream. One of the most eye-catching woods we use.
Chakte Kok (Redheart)
Vivid cherry-red straight off the saw, bright and almost glowing
Chakte Viga (Orangeheart)
Warm orange-red with a silky, polished glow once finished.
Red Cedar
Soft, aromatic, and warm-toned with a classic rustic feel and natural scent.
Zebrawood
Bold, high-contrast dark and light stripes that look exactly like the name suggests.
Canarywood
Streaks of gold, orange, and deep red running through a single piece. No two look alike.
Bolivian Rosewood
Dense, rich, and deeply figured in dark browns with a natural luster.
Wenge
Nearly black with bold, straight grain. Dramatic, modern, and about as dark as natural wood gets.
Hickory
Bold contrast between light sapwood and dark heartwood, with a rugged, all-American character.
Purpleheart
A striking deep purple straight from the board, locked in by our finish so the color stays vivid.
Paduk
Brilliant orange-red when freshly cut, with a bold grain that makes every piece stand out.
Tigerwood
Fiery orange base streaked with dark brown, giving it its namesake pattern.
